The Charles County Citizen Notification System (CNS), is a free service that allows you to receive emergency, weather and community notifications via phone calls, text messages, email and more, for the locations you care about in Charles County.  You can choose to receive notifications about events that may affect your home, your grandchild's school, your parent's home, your workplace or other locations.

Maryland Senior Call Check Program

Maryland is the first state in the country to start a free, opt-in, telephonic service to check on Maryland’s older residents, all across the state. This free service will place an automated call daily to call you at a regularly scheduled time. If the call is not picked up after three attempts, the service will call an alternate person on your behalf to check on you.

Southern Maryland Regional AT Loan Library

Southern Maryland Center for Independent Living (SMCIL) in collaboration with Maryland Technology Assistance Program (MD TAP) has opened the Southern Maryland Regional Assistive Technology Loan Library to support access to Assistive Technology. The AT loan library enables individuals with disabilities to live, work and learn more independently through Assistive Technology by allowing a consumer to see and try the latest AT prior to purchasing.
